In addition to a 20Hz-20kHz bandwidth, it features a low-cut filter (80Hz) that cuts out low-frequency noise from air conditioning or traffic, for example. The NTG2 can be powered by either a single AA battery (1.5V) or P48 phantom power supplied by a professional device (camera, audio recorder, or external power supplies). The battery option to power the NTG2 allows it to be used with a DSLR camera that does not normally provide phantom power (plug-in power). A WSVM windscreen is included to minimize wind noise and pops during recording. For outdoor use, it is best to use the optional DeadCat windscreen.
