The RØDE Blimp is a shock-mount windscreen for NTG1, NTG2, or NTG3, or other manufacturers' shotgun microphones up to 325mm long. Equipped with a Rycote® Lyre shock mount, the Blimp provides optimal suspension and isolation for the microphone. Made from a single piece of hard-wearing thermoplastic, the Lyre cradle offers superior acoustic suspension over traditional elastic shock mounts because it won't wear, sag, or break. The Blimp's handle is completely new: it significantly reduces the product's weight and offers significantly greater ergonomics. Inside the handle runs a robust Mogami cable to the junction box, from which a thin, highly flexible cable extends inside the Blimp to further minimize vibration transfer to the microphone. With an ultra-light suspension system and handle, the new version of the Blimp weighs 25% less than the original (550g without microphone or DeadWombat). The Blimp can be attached to any boom pole using a 3/8" thread at the base. The optional Universal Blimp Mount replaces the handle and reduces weight when the Blimp is used on a boom pole. It comes with a Dead Wombat windshield, a maintenance brush, and a connection cable. The 10-year warranty (excluding normal wear and tear of the Dead Wombat windshield, misuse, modification, or improper storage/transport of the product) demonstrates our belief in the quality of the Blimp.
